Is new glass cheaper than a new front door?
Yes, by a lot. A new front door means a new slab, frame, trim, paint and often new hardware. We change only the glass, and cut a bigger opening if you need one. Send a photo and we send your exact price within 24 hours.
Will new glass really make my door look new?
On most doors, yes. The glass is the biggest part of the door people see from the street. New stained, wrought iron, frosted or blinds-between-the-glass changes the whole look of your entrance.
My door has no glass, or very little. Can you still do it?
Yes. We cut a new or bigger opening in a solid steel or fibreglass door and fit a glass insert, so a dark foyer gets daylight. Mark’s door above is one of these.
Can you fix a sagging or drafty door at the same visit?
Yes. While we install your new glass, we can adjust a sagging door and replace worn weatherstrip, so it looks and closes like new.
What if I replace the door later?
The glass is yours. Door glass comes in standard sizes, so if you ever do replace the door, your decorative glass can usually move into the new one.
When do I really need a new door instead?
If the door is rotten, split or warped, new glass won’t fix it, and we will tell you so. If the door itself is solid, keeping it and changing the glass is the smart move.
How long does it take?
One visit. We take out your old glass, fit the new insert into your existing door and take the old glass away. Your door stays on its hinges the whole time.
