No. Most people have only seen the 5 panel look as a privacy film or front door glass sticker. Ours is real glass: the frosted panels are sandblasted into a new tempered glass insert, so there is nothing to peel, bubble or lift.
Why does privacy film on a front door peel and bubble?
Front door glass goes from hot summer sun to Ottawa winter cold, and the door opens and closes many times a day. That works the edges of door glass film loose, and dirt and moisture get under it. Most film starts to lift, bubble or scratch within a few years.
Is sandblasted glass better than privacy film?
If you own your home, yes. Film costs less up front and is a fine quick fix if you rent. Sandblasted glass is a one-time job: it never peels, never needs redoing and lasts as long as your door.
Can you remove my old door glass film?
You don’t need to. We replace the whole glass insert, so your old glass and its film come out together, and we take them away for free.
